Matthew 6:9-13, In this manner, therefore, pray:
Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
Jesus left us a model prayer. We know from the words “this day” and “daily” that it is a daily prayer. John Wesley said, “God does nothing but through prayer.” Prayer is our connection to Salvation, physical needs, intimacy with the Father, victory over sin, and God’s will in our lives in general.
I want to give attention to the line, On earth as it is in heaven. Heaven, ruled by God, is the standard. Jesus personified that standard during His life on earth. If heaven is limited then we are limited. Jesus taught that with God all things are possible, and now He is teaching us to pray that lifestyle without limits into existence in our lives here on earth.
Take the limits off your faith and your prayer life. Any limitations are man-made. Dare to dream, pray, and believe God for the glory and power of heaven to be a part of your earthly experience. – Jeff Burke
