Jesus said that the Holy Spirit would not speak on His own authority which begs the question, If He’s God, why wouldn’t He? That’s because the Holy Spirit did not come to do everything for us. To do so would create a bunch of passive believers who leave everything to God’s sovereignty as an excuse for not putting much effort into their pursuit of the things of God.
So, what authority does the Holy Spirit operate under? According to John 16:13-15, He hears the the things of Jesus and His Father and declare them to us. He lets us know what God is doing so we can work together with God in winning souls, setting people free from past hurts, diseases, demonic influences, and any other scheme of the wicked one. Every miracle we’ve ever experienced in our ministry has been a result of receiving a message from the Holy Spirit, revealing what God desires to do through us. This is delegated authority of the believer. We are one with Jesus and everything that’s under His feet, is under our feet.
Heavenly Father, open my spiritual ears and eyes to see and hear what you desire to do. Help me to work together with you through your Holy Spirit to help set others free who are bound by the enemy in any way. In Jesus name, Amen.
